This morning I visited a school that I used to work with. They are having such a problem paying their teachers. Money for teachers comes mostly through Sponsorship programs like, Starfish kids. I still have a heart for this program. Sponsoring a kid in this country can never be about what it does for the sponsor or what is done to make them feel good about what they are doing. I know how the kids benefit from sponsorships and I also know what will happen to Christian Schools here in Haiti if sponsorship programs stop. I know that the poorer schools are really struggling and we cannot afford to loose them. We need them for the kids sake. I know some of you are wondering why I would leave a program I love. All I can say is it was best and God puts people where he wants them for such a time as this.
