This morning while in Starbucks a person ask me, how I define myself as a coach. This was a good question because I never thought about it in this way with any detail. I told him; Im a coach that has been very fortunate to acquired a very high basketball IQ as a player & now as a coach. I pride myself of being a hands on coach that can still demonstrate in drills that makes my coaching much more efficient for players because I show them that I still can practice what I preach. Also Ive never asked players to do something I couldnt demonstrate or do as a coach. I challenge my players to prove a point to make them better as well as good people. At the same time, I can gain respect needed to lead a team forward to help in achieving our goals.
