This mornings message is titled; S.R.= Somber Reminder/Spirit of Rejoicing Our Scripture passages are Romans 7:15,8:1 The Apostle Paul is writing to Christians in Rome who are struggling with this conflict of the two natures that are within them. This is the same struggle every Christian alive today deals with. 1. The nature of a sinner. 2. The nature of one saved by. grace. One nature seeks to fulfill our own will, while the other nature seeks to fulfill Gods will for our lives. God through the Apostle Paul provides for us this verse as a somber reminder and a second verse to encourage Christians to rejoice. There are three things we need to be reminded of before moving on to the second verse. 1. What are the Right Things? 2. What are the Wrong Things? 3. Why we must accept the truth of this verse. Spirit of Rejoicing, Romans 8:1 Christians can rejoice in their lives daily in spite of the reality that they still struggle with sin. We are not rejoicing over our sin, rather we rejoice over Gods unlimited grace and love towards us. For there us No Condemnation for Christians! How then do we see this truth realized, lived out in our lives? It requires three things. 1. Forgiveness. Forgiveness from God and from ourselves. 2. Focus on improving. We need to strive to overcome sin in our lives. 3. Have Faith in this Promise of God. For the meat of this message, stop in this morning and worship with us at Nesbitt Baptist Church in Marshall.
