This one is for the Nos. I float about these pages, looking through threads, reading comment after comment and the general consensus I get is the people voting No associate the Yes campaign with hatred, with the need to create divisions, see us as Nazi lovers and just generally bad people. Well Im afraid to tell you, this is a complete misconception. I, like thousands upon thousands of Yes supporters, am just an average guy. Im a single parent, I rent a flat, I go to work for pittance to provide for my son, I come home and make dinner, play with the little man, get him ready for bed and then clean the flat when hes asleep. The only thing I hate is when Hearts lose or my next door neighbour plays their music too loud when Im trying to get the wee one to sleep. The difference between me and you is this, and only this, I have the belief and the confidence that our great nation can be a better place for my son, your kids, your neighbours kids to grow up in. That together as an independent country we can shape our society the way we want and not the way were told to by a few toffs whove never spent more than a night in the country. So ask yourself this, whos best to make the choices for your family, you and your partner or Jim and Kate from Devon who youve never met? Its the same kind of concept, the people best placed to make our countrys choices are the people who live here, me, you, your neighbour and not a bunch of folk whove never lived or worked a day here.
