This one should be filed in your Jim shares his Asian experience so who gives a shit file In the late 70s (yeah, the 70s) I had just gotten out of my 6 year Army stint and with a young family was looking for a job in Japan. ANY kind of job that could sustain us and keep us in Japan. Friend who was a distributor came to me . Jim...if you want the job you can be the first marketing manager for the Japanese answer to Gatorade...its called POCARI SWEAT Now the salary wasnt great but it was stable and it came with a gasoline allowance and an incentive plan. I said no. I couldnt imagine a drink called sweat making it. But it did...big time. And now 40 years or so later its actually my preferred sports drink after a workout. Plus...in 2003 I came down with a VERY bad case of Typhoid Fever after a 3 day climb on Mt. Pulag. Couldnt eat solid food as in none for 18 straight days. I lived on Pocari Sweat...only.
