This past Sunday Jonie and I celebrated our 34th anniversery which when I look at the numbers looks like a long time, but when I stop and think about it the time has flown by - it seems the wedding was just yesterday, that our children who are now in their late 20s and early 30s, should still be running around the house instead it is our grandchildren that are running around when they are here. Life is fun! There are problems, but for the most part, life is fun! We try to celebrate our anniversery in different ways: last year I kept it a secret and rented a room with a hot tub (bathtubs are too small so a hot tub is just the right size) but I did not know Jonie volunteered to watch someones dog for the night -- scratch hot tub room. This year I told her about the plans which were to happen last Friday but 15 minutes before I was to pick up the keys I received a call saying the hot tub was broke and would not be fixed -- they could move me to a regular room -- I can stay home and have a regular room -- so reschedule for tonight -- will we make it or will the hot tub curse continue? Why do I go through this long story? To tell you one thing -- married people need to have a date night! I dont care how old you are, you need to spend time with your spouse. Buy some flowers (if she likes that) and take her out for a great meal -- No, not the place with the arches, or that place that serves 5 cent coffee 24 hrs a day. Date! Respark the romance! Love is a special gift from God and we should celebrate that gift with the one we love. Go to a movie, or out to eat, sit and do something you may not have done in a while = cuddle, or hold hands, I bet you can think of a few things to do --- man and woman are to leave their parents and are to become one flesh. Have a good night out -- Pastor Jim
