This past few weeks have been cool at The Jericho House. 3 new men and July 13 we will graduate 3 men from the program and 2 men from our Servant Leadership Training. 2 of our alumni were married and have begun families. The best thing that happen was one of the men surrendering his heart to the Savior. He had grown up around Christ but had not fully let go of his old life. Freedom and Independence from tyranny and slavery. Meet Kyle; The second to last time I went to jail I didn’t even call my Dad to come and get me out. I knew that like the last many times my dad would come to my rescue. After four days of sitting in my pod I began to worry why I wasn’t being released yet. Before lunch my name was called over the intercom for visitation. I thought why on earth would anyone be coming for visitation when they could just as easy come and have me released I got to the window and it was my dad. I was angry, I picked up the phone and asked why he was here and not bonding me out. He said he wasn’t going to get me out, not right now. He was sick and tired of me living this way and he was tired of the way he was enabling me. I slammed the phone down and walked away. God had given him the strength to leave me in there for a total of a week. When I finally got out I actually thanked him for leaving me in there because I had begun to read the Bible and a few books. I’ve never read a book in my life much less the bible. If God had not told my dad to leave me. I wouldn’t have begun to attempt a relationship with the Lord. I am seeing God’s love in the men and staff at The Jericho House. And because I have put my trust in Jesus others are seeing Gods love in me.
