This poem was written by my late father Mr. A. H. M. I. H. Ansari and was published in Star of India, Calcutta on 23rd January, 1946. QAID-E-AZAM The savior true of cultures and creed He is the Leader of the Muslim-mass, And in merits of head and heart, indeed There’s none to vie with him and surpass. A Congress member when once was he In its programme he found nothing save, Injustice to the Minority And Muslim-rights and creed in danger grave Away he flew from men such dishonest Who were full of each and every Intrigue, And to save the Muslims’ all that are best He organized the dormant Muslim-league. To bring joys of peace that’ll never die He, who strives to achieve real freedom, The master of Ideals supreme and high He is our acknowledge Quad – e – Azam. Like a mighty oak he is staunch and firm To redeem the cultures of Islam, The leader in the true sense of the term He wants that all must rest in peace and calm. Till our hearts beat and the blood runs in our vein In sooth, we’ll by his dictates abide, And ere the loosing of our feelings of pain He will true be our undisputed guide. Many a foe with their mouths open wide Venom against him pour but harm him none, For throwing of ashes ‘ll never hide At any time the bright and dazzling sun. Thus with me should pray every Mussalman May God give him strength and zeal to obtain, The much longed Empire of Pakistan Wherein Justice and Peace ‘ill e’er reign. THE END
