This posting has been brought to my attention by a good friend and I feel its my duty as an instructor to bring this to light. This organisation are taking money claiming to make students into true blackbelts, this is not the case. For the public who dont know:-this is not a good standard, in fact its very poor! It saddens me that this is what martial arts has come to. Clubs and organisations taking money under false pretences from families that dont know any better. I bet this kids family have paid thousands and thousands of pounds thinking they are giving their child a gift for life. Genuine, hard working instructors struggle to compete with the ridiculous number of buy a blackbelt schools popping up everywhere. The general public have no idea of whats good and bad and are swayed by the fancy shortcut to blackbelt promotions. Good instructors struggle, I work full-time and then run classes on top of that because I refuse to lower myself to give away blackbelts like party bags. This kid will go out onto the streets thinking hes good and can defend himself, unfortunately he may be in for a very rude awakening! Its time something is done to stop these charlatans!
