This posting is not meant to be whining or complaining, but only an update for family and friends who have been wondering what the progress is for my various surgeries. You know I am actually almost getting used to the needles, my biggest phobia up to this point. Its been a week now since the ankle-foot reconstruction. Things seem to be progressing nicely. At least I hope. I lost my balance this morning while trying to get up on crutches and twisted the ankle before I fell back on the sofa, but it didnt hurt too bad as the day progressed.. Guess Ill find out more on Thursday when they remove the bandages and check the stitches. If everything looks fine, they will put a cast on it for the next six weeks. Time will tell. Then Friday, I meet with the eye surgeon to see ho. w those eye surgeries have gone. Im looking forward to the next step for vision. Either a second new glass prescription, hard contacts for the eyeball distortion or a decision on whether or not to proceed with the surgery to insert rings into my eyes to attempt to flatten the astigmatism distortion. Its getting kinda boring laying here on the sofa for a full week. No upstairs, or outside or much of anything. Daves been terrific to feed me here, bring me my meds and help when I need to get up on the crutches. He makes sure I have water before he leaves for his bedtime, then wakes me up just like a hospital nurse at 4:00 am to serve me breakfast. Ah gee! But I am anxious to get back to a regular bed and regular activities. Took a ouple of pain killers earlier this evening and I am still wide awake at nearly 1am. Good thing George Burns and Gracie Allen are on at 12:00 am until 1:00 am. After that, I begin my channel crusing until I find something to put me to sleep. Thanks for the read and for caring.
