This sounds great: Are We Alone? With: Jolyon Johnson, Binary Star Researcher and Astronomer When: Thursday August 14, 2014, 7:00-10:00 pm Where: The Evergreen State College, Seminar 2 D 1105 (Stargazing afterwards, weather permitting.) Are we alone? This question has rooted itself in the frontiers of astronomy as scientists explore our solar system and seek out planet orbiting distant stars. Join visiting astronomer Jo Johnson and members of “Astronomy and Cosmology: Stars and Stories,” as we ask questions, explore conditions, delve into recent achievements, and discuss future hurdles in the search for life in the Universe. Jo Johnson is interested in science education, astronomy, planetary geology, and the search for life. One of the primary students of Astronomer, author, and researcher, Russ Genet, Jo has authored over 60 scientific papers and is a leading figure in binary star research.
