All of these promises about what we are going to do to help our veterans get the care that they need. With this budget (back in 2009) we increased funding for the VA system by $25 billion. And its gone up since. And for our money we have...? The Veterans Administration hospital system IS government run healthcare. With the exception of contractor/suppliers, the entire system is run by government with next-to-no private sector intrusion, virtually no profit/loss requirements or constraints, and essentially zero free-market competition. Whether a doctor in a VA hospital sees and treats 4 patients in a day or 20 - he or she gets paid the exact same amount of money.
