This sweet thing has been telling us all about it all day long! We went to speech therapy this morning at Tender Ones Therapy Services and we went early to be part of a research study about the development of kids that have cerebral palsy or CP like characteristics. Hawk does not have the official diagnosis of CP or take any medicine for muscle issues but he does have some spasticity. The therapist doing the study really sweet and even though it was her first time meeting Hawk, he really open up to her. After the short assessment was done she was interacting with him while I was filling out paperwork and he really started talking like crazy. There were not any other kids getting therapy at the time so it was unusually quite and thats perfect for Hawk because he wont really talk when there is too much other noise. His speech therapist was so happy to hear him because she had really only heard this level of talking from him in videos. In the actual speech therapy we worked on feeding. Hawk got to try the little baby food chicken sticks mashed up. The texture was a step up from purée and he did really well. He had a confused look on his face the whole time but hex kept going. Then we said hi to girlfriend Loving Lainey bug :) He napped on the way home and was still so asleep when I got here that I was not willing to risk the move so awesome nurse Rachel sat in the car and fed him lunch through the g tube and did some charting while he finished the nap. After a good nap, he was ready to play ! We really came so close to a laugh. He was kicking both legs like I havent seen in a long time. And this was the first time he has really enjoyed being tickled like this! It was sooooo much fun! God knew I needed this. He played like this for almost 2 hours yall! When I picked him up to give supper it didnt take him long to settle in a go to bed early :) Im praying this kind of day becomes our new normal. Katie
