This war on #Syria is supposed to be a limited Desert Fox style of operation. However, Western troops were slowly massed in the region since 2011, and Israel intervened several times in Syrian territory. Turkey had thousands of its soldiers posted on the borders since 2011. This can indicate something bigger. The Syrian opposition will anyway try to make as much advances as possible, maybe even taking Damascus (something they tried many times since 2012, and again during the latest Israeli strike on Damascus). The regime, as in its previous wars with Israel, has concentrated its forces in and around Damascus. It is of course about defending the leadership before the borders and the civilians. We will therefore witness a lot of damage in Damascus, one of the oldest cities of the world, now the lonely town of those who did not have enough money to leave...
