This was going to be a Tribute to a beautiful woman, whose lamp - TopicsExpress

This was going to be a Tribute to a beautiful woman, whose lamp was taken by the Lord last night, but I can’t do it. Unlike the other role model I lost just two months ago, this one I was much closer too……this one……breaks my heart; so what do we do in our hour of sorrow, in our time of pain? Yep, we turn to the Lord for guidance, a shoulder to cry upon, so friends, THIS is a Christian Status, and you will of course forgive me if I indulge in my pain for just a moment….thank you. There is a story in the Bible of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. The background was that Jesus knew his good friend had died, and deliberately delayed his trip so that He could arrive on day three after the death. As Jesus walked into the town, he looks around and saw the sorrow, heartbreak, and pain upon the faces of those He loved very much…. (Here is where the shortest verse in the Bible takes place)………He wept. Knowing that He was about to Glorify God with an amazing miracle, He wept….. He wept because at the moment the sheer weight of the pain of His people was upon His shoulders, and He did what any human would do…... It is at this moment He walked to the tomb, and uttered, “Lazarus come” (paraphrase)……low and behold, Lazarus walked out of the tomb, he came back to life.....hand-in-hand with the Savior. It works that way today as well, only we can’t see that right now through our shock and pain. Jesus told his Disciples that He was going ahead of us to prepare a room; which gives one the impression that He’s expecting us; and like any good host, He wants to keep the light on, in a clean house with the welcome mat out (☺) In many ways, we are told……warned actually, that our time on earth is limited; and that we are not to be too comfortable with our surroundings because this time…..this place…..is only but a stop on our journey. There will be a time, when He will reach out His hand and command, “Dawn come”; because even though there may very well be weeping and sorrow surrounding my Death, Jesus is aware that like Lazarus, I will be with Him. My body may very well be left behind; but frankly, I was only renting that anyway; my soul….my spirit will be where it belongs……in one of the many rooms prepared for me, and I KNOW like I know my own name right now that THAT is where SHE is……Jesus came last night, in the midst of much pain and sorrow and simply uttered, “Come”…..and she did…..hand-in-hand with the Savior; but here we are weeping……..its understandable......yet if we believe, then we KNOW that even though He knew He would raise her up, He weeps with us because our pain is more than He can bear and friends, if the Savior weeps then know that you are very, very special to Him, AND He reminds us that SHE is safe with HIM…....that’s where we’d want her anyway. Friends, this isn’t an alter call, it’s simply a way for me to remind myself that even though an AMAZING woman was taken away from us last night, I need to take comfort in the fact that she believed and because of that He came back for her, and while that knowledge doesn’t make it any easier now, it will…..when my Spirit catches up with my heart……Someone once called Christianity “after life insurance”……I don’t find that be offensive as much as I do true; although I would slightly change the phrase to read, “After life ASSURANCE”, it’s the Assurance that when we leave this world, and our rented bodies are returned to the store….the party isn’t over. Jesus likened Himself to a King throwing a banquet in which all were invited……well, she had a party to go to; and I hope to follow her someday……..I’m not saying not to cry; simply to rejoice while you cry because she did indeed purchase insurance……I know where to find her…..she was an amazing women, and I will miss her very much. Thank you Jesus for bringing her into my life…….Peace and Mercy to the family today……Amen. Remember you set the Tone, you ARE the Example. BE KIND to each other. Show GRACE and MERCY to all those who cross your path today. With your Daily Affirmations complete, enjoy your Holiday…..Happy Birthday America…..
