This was pretty much middle of the night...I was a ball of nerves. Pretty sure Im even talking to my @valsnation T-shirts. Truth is I didnt sleep a wink. I had set a goal of personally raising $555. Which would cover the cost of The Brown Bag Lunch Program for every hungry Med Hat Kid enrolled for one day. I was close really close. But wasnt quite there. I had no idea what today would bring. What actually happened was incredible. Today will go down as one of my favourite memories on Planet Earth. I have a Thank you List that will touch the moon!...The t-shirts raised a TON of money designed by Michelle Hearn-Klimosko of Trophy World her amazing donation today put me over my personal $555 goal. To Kerri Quick Gold for patiently selling them each week. To The Thursday Night Market at Medalta committee and Doreen from The Farmers Market at the Cypress Center who went above the call of duty in supporting The BB Lunch Program. When my CHAT family came on board to support the UnitedWay SE Alberta Brown Bag Lunch Program. My dream took flight and grew wings of its own. Behind the scenes none of this could have been possible without the commitment of The United Way Team (Holly,Melissa and Velma) and the Vision and direction of The UW Board. To each of you who purchased shirts, dropped off a chq on your way to work. Signed up to volunteer. Went to work and talked to co-workers told them about the 555 Hungry MedHat Kids. And most importantly to each of you who choose not to turn a blind eye, but commit and become the spark that becomes change....You are my Heros. You are why Medicine Hat is the best city to call home. On the cusp of $16,000 in support of The Brown Bag Lunch Campaign. Thank you.
