This was shared on the page by a fan and I loved it so much I have to share it with everyone else. It was written by one of the officers that the fan dispatches for. Unsung Heroes You probably won’t recognize these heroes on the street. They don’t wear a uniform, gun or a badge. They don’t wear a cape or have a big S on the front of their shirt. They don’t drive a fire truck, ambulance or a patrol car but they are here among us. They live and work in our community and they work around the clock. They work Holidays, Birthdays and often work when they have a cold that would put most people out on sick leave. They miss family functions, school activities with their children and are there when most people are home asleep, oblivious to the long drawn out ticking of the clock on an all night shift. They are there; ready to give help to anyone who calls. Their pictures don’t usually make the paper but these behind the scenes heroes deserve our utmost appreciation and thanks. As you may have figured out, I am talking about 911 Dispatchers. They are the life line between someone who needs help and those that respond to give that help, be it fire, ambulance or police. The dispatchers in Ferry County, who also serve the City of Republic, are among the best there is. If you know one of them or ever get the chance to meet them, be sure to give them a big THANK YOU!
