This was very difficult for me to watch. As you know, my goddaughter has Down Syndrome and right now she is little and we protect her because she is in small, controlled environments. As she grows and gets more into the world my hope is that all of the love that we infuse will protect her self-worth, and if someone is cruel to her in this way, hopefully, at the end of the day, we will just laugh about what an idiot that person was. But what I really pray for is that people will not be ugly. My little girls light is so bright that its difficult to imagine how it could be missed.
