This week: Israelis and Palestinians started to breathe a little - the ceasefire meant that we could see beyond the smoke, beyond the rubble... It meant we could imagine that maybe -- just maybe -- there could be a long term solution to this. Then #thatawfulmoment when Hamas broke the ceasefire and lobbed rockets at Bersheva, just as Israel was thinking about maybe easing the blockade. I was right, mama. The war will never end. Usually I like being right, but I wish this time I was wrong. My kids and dad and I ran across dusty ground to the shelter - we know the way with our eyes closed by now. Then, a little boy was killed. Four years old. My sons age. God, I cant bring myself to say BDE - Im sorry,l I cant. Because too many civilians have been killed on both sides. One civilian is too many. And you know what? F&ck it. Its Shabbos. Im cranking this up over the din of the RED ALERT app, over the news, over the pounding of my heart. But not loud enough to miss a siren.
