This week, Mayor Lee signed into law legislation my office worked on for two years to create strict regulations to tax Airbnb and similar companies and govern how they do business in San Francisco. Unfortunately, since it was passed at the Board of Supervisors, there has been a lot of misinformation over what this measure actually does, much of if the result of politically motivated attacks that have no basis in reality. This article that I wrote sets the record straight about what our policy does to protect affordable housing and hold these companies accountable.
