This week at Cariboo Growers – Jul 19 – 24, 2013 (open all year) “If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart.” (Cesar Chavez) The Co-op is now open: Wed from 11am – 6 pm until Thanksgiving. NEW in-store: Blueberries, Broccoli, Kale Chips, Cabbage, and some Peas. Local FRUIT & VEGETABLES – Blueberries, Cherries, Peaches, Apricots, raw Garlic bulbs, crisp Cucumbers (long English, short Diva, & mini Salad), Zucchini, Green Onions, Radishes, Swiss Chard, Peas, Kholrabi, Dill, Salad mixes, Lettuce Heads (Romaine, Red Leaf & Green Leaf), Peppers, Braising Greens, Kale, Spinach, baby Beets with Greens, assorted Herbs, fresh Garlic Scapes, Basil, Tomatoes & some Carrots. SPECIALS – There is a special sale bin in the cooler for items that are still wonderful but should be enjoyed soon. OTHER FOODS – Canned smoked Salmon (Red Spring, White Spring, Sockeye, Coho, Pink) and Tuna. Try the Candied Smoked Salmon, Turkey Jerky or Rodear Beef Jerky. Delicious Cranberry Vitality Baguettes, Kim’s Antipasto & other Preserves, as well as her Chocolate varieties, and locally roasted Coffee from Uncle Paul’s. We have a selection of beeswax candles from both Soda Creek and Tatla Lake, and Healing Salve and Arnica Massage Balm from Maggie Ranger. Local MEATS – Trust the Meat you Eat! We carry 100% local meats that are free of added hormones and anti-biotics. Grass-fed, Grass-finished, Pasture Raised (not just free-range access), Beef, Pork, Lamb, Chicken, Goat & wild Salmon. Check out the black freezer in the corner or ask us to help you find something. Custom Meat orders are available: please contact the store in advance to order specific cuts for a specific date. Support your local not-for-profit Co-op – With a Community Membership or entering the monthly draw-by-donation you are helping support your Co-op. Like other not-for-profit organizations we need to fundraise to purchase some upgrades and improvements.
