This week well be roasting on Tuesday, 8/26/2014, and be at the final Tunes@Tapps Outdoor Market on Wednesday, 8/27/2014. Bonney Lake loves Guatemalan coffee! We sold out of my current favorite, Guatemala Proyecto Xinabajul – FC Mendez (aka Project X), and it is no longer available. We have two more varetials from Guatemala on the way, though, and Im excited about offering them next week! This Weeks Coffee Menu includes: Single Origins: Brazil Canaan Estate Dry/Natural Process - $12/ pound - Simple coffee with great body, fruit and nutty flavors with some chocolate. This one is an amazing single origin espresso. It is a solid, bold but smooth cup of coffee good for daily drinking. (Note: Natural or dry processing is the original manner in which coffee was processed. The cherries are dried with the beans inside, like drying a grape into a raisin and removed later in the process.) Ethiopia Illubabor Baaroo - $14 pound - Taste notes of stone fruit with some layers of chocolate. You may also pick up on hints of brown sugar, baking spices, cola nut, and pomegranate. There is a mingling of lively citrus and cacao nibs in the finish that interplay with one another nicely. Ethiopia Yirga Cheffe Grade 1 Aricha Natural - $14/ pound - A berry syrup fruit character, cinnamon toast, pineapple and ripe citrus brightness, and a sweet butter finish. At the Full City roast level, there are black currants and blueberry notes that emerge, with a drinking cocoa finish. Guatemala San Diego Buena Vista - $14/pound - This variety has a fairly straight forward brown sugar and almond flavor - think toffee covered almond. It has a nice dark chocolate flavor too, thats most like high % cacao bar. Its a great relationship between sweetness and bitter-sweetness, striking a nice balance in the cup. Theres a citrus element too, but more like citrus zest in the finish, and not so much the juicy aspect. As espresso, this ones a killer - dark cacao, candied nut, and citrus oil. Blends: SM Espresso “Funky” Monkey Blend - $14/ pound - Bittersweet chocolate, dark fruit, licorice, a long aftertaste and good body. While this is an espresso blend, it brews up a smooth and amazing cup of coffee. NEW DECAF Burundi-Ethiopia Coop Blend SWP - $14/ pound - Sweet and aromatic decaf coffee with a complex acidity, some berry juice flavors and a thick syrupy body. Brews up a wonderful cup of coffee but will also make a great decaf espresso. Merchandise: Clever Coffee Dripper single serve brewer - $24 (tax included) - This is one of Vals favorite brewing methods, especially for smaller batches of coffee. The bottom of the filtercone contains a pressure sensitive stopper allowing for control of extraction time. It uses a paper filter to produce a sediment-free brew and makes clean up easy. This is a full immersion brewing method, allowing you to control the water temperature, water to coffee ratio, and extraction time. (20 count #4 cone filters included along with instructions on brewing. Makes about 12 oz of coffee.) We now accept payments in cash, credit or debit card or via PayPal Invoicing. For our customers who are a little farther away from us, an invoice for a minimum of one (1) pound of coffee or more can be sent to you via email from PayPal. After payment, we can either ship up to four (4) pounds of coffee maximum via USPS Priority Mail or make arrangements for delivery if you live in South/Southeast King County or North/North Central or East Pierce County, Washington.
