This weekend I just realized how many different opinions bboys - TopicsExpress

This weekend I just realized how many different opinions bboys have when they judge battles. I cannot stress how important it is to know what the bboys are judging on. I lost in the finals this weekend with my crew member Mijo Rodriguez and I thought we ripped it in the finals. One of the judges approached me after the event and said, "our solos were great but in Mexico they focus on routines to show crew unity". Mijo and I decided not to do routines because we wanted to focus on strong solos. I felt that we beat their routines with our solos. I am not upset with the judges decision because they are entitled to their opinion. But I did disagree wholeheartedly. I highly respect those judges as bboys and even better as people! I guess my point is that how can I play a game correctly without knowing the rules? Had we known they wanted to see routines. We could have ran a system and provided great routines. I feel like its time to start saying what the judges are looking for prior to even attending events. Or else how can we even prepare?
