This weekend I was privileged to audition with a brand new Southern Gospel group that is forming in the upper East Tennessee area. The call came out of the blue last week, and I accepted the invitation. We are three guys, all about the same age, who have sung for many years in other groups, but had never sung together. From the first song, we knew the Holy Spirit had orchestrated our meeting. It has been many, many years since my first tenor days, but the harmonies were tight and were going to continue rehearsing. I usually dont like to use cliches, but, all I can say is: it was a God thing! Were starting as a trio and, if God sends us a bass singer, well transition to a quartet.
