This weeks OE3 has our students out in the community volunteering with BC Parks and the Squamish River Watershed Society. Students and staff alike are getting their hands dirty by planting endemic and removing invasive species. Teachers are integrating their Science Biomes/Ecosystems and Chemistry Units into the community work in order to promote citizen-science initiatives within our school and to connect our students to the living world that surrounds them. Tonight we are camping out at Porteau Cove and, after morning lessons in our outdoor classrooms, we will be working with BC Parks to learn more about local flora and what stewardship our region requires. Watch for more photos from our first campout coming soon! Have a great day.
