This whole job ordeal has taught me one important aspect of faith. If you are going to stand by your convictions, then you will face hardship, you will face persecution. But in the end it is all worth it when you decide you will not yield your faith, you will not compromise your integrity. The Sabbath is not just a time of rest from work, it is a test of our fidelity to God. It is sad to see even many Adventists are more willing to compromise this sacred time. It is no wonder that many secular workplaces dont feel the need to allow the entire Sabbath time off, with so many willing to work those sacred hours. If more Adventists were willing to actually stand by the very truth that we claim sets us apart from other Protestant churches, the strength of our witness would increase tenfold. Businesses wouldnt be able to claim, well other Adventists have worked here and they worked during those hours, why cant you?
