This will be long. But no matter how many words I use to describe this weekend, none well ever be adequate enough. I do not post to brag, but yet to praise God for his infinite blessings and to prove that He truly does concern Himself with even the tiniest desires of our heart. This adventure began several weeks ago when my friend Deborah Crutchfield came into my store looking for an outfit for a Miranda Lambert concert. As I always do I helped her find a shirt and told her how excited/jealous I was. She mentioned Garth Brooks would be in Jacksonville this month returning from his retirement. I loved the idea but figured Id never be able to go. Didnt really give it another thought until a week later and I mentioned it to my best friend Andrea Gainey. Now Andrea and I have been friends for 11 years. Weve taken family vacations together, hung out at our houses but NEVER have we had a girls trip. Little did we know tickets went on sale the next day. We decided to do it! She tried 5 different times to put in our info and by the time she finished the tickets were sold. Shes persistent (understatement)! She finally succeeded. They werent the best tickets, but who cared, we were going to see GARTH BROOKS!!! Last week I received an email stating that the tickets she fought so hard for were rescinded by the company and we would be given alternate seating. We werent happy, but still we were going to see GARTH!! Fast forward to yesterday. We load up, just the two of us, with many well wishes and lots of concern (for ourselves and others). We were offered to purchase guns in Tallahassee (true story) and we only had to threaten 1 cab driver....I call it a success! Anyway, we arrive at the hotel, rest a bit and get ready. We head to the concert. We arrived and started to find our seats. We were in the third section. Let me pause for a moment and let your in on a little secret. Im deatly afraid of heights. I have not been to a concert since my mother took me to see Reba in Tallahassee in the 90s and I had to sit down and scoot backwards up the steps because we were so high up. This was not an ideal situation but nevertheless we proceeded up the first escalator. Now mind you Andrea is my best friend for 11 years, shes NEVER seen me scared. I latched onto that her arm (God bless her heart, she had marks) and the side of that escalator and hung on. Then came the second one, even worse. I made it. This one, Ugggggggghhhhhhh, got it too. I deserved a treat. At this point, I needed a break. We stop to get some candied pecans. Sorry story continued.......out of space! See next post!
