This years MISSION CHANGE SLEEP OUT 2014 had to be the purest representation of our community that Ive ever seen at a sleep out. From the young to the old, the religious & non religious, from African Americans to Whites to Hispanics, from Doctors and other Business Professionals sleeping next to Homeless Men & Women, standing in solidarity with the homeless there that night and the many who are or will experience homelessness this year. All seeking to not only be grateful for warm beds to go home to but to change how we live. We can acknowledge and love those on the streets instead of rolling up our windows, locking our doors, looking the other way, ignoring the destitute. We can do our part by supporting those who are out on the front lines serving food, housing, loving and caring for our homeless men, women & children. As Margret Meade put it: Never Doubt that a Small Group of Thoughtful, Committed Citizens Can Change the World; Indeed its the Only Thing That Ever Has.
