Those of us who truly believe in Jesus, believe that He is real, that His truth is vital. We dont think we are entitled to bring power to bear against unbelievers, because who could force anyone to believe? The whole point of wanting people to believe and be saved is the salvation of their souls. This is what Jesus called us to, not reforming the fallen world. But we often have the sorry history of religion thrown in our faces, including the accusation that the whole purpose of religion is social control: control of the masses.
