Those of you who dont have a fire extinguisher in your kitchen ... GET ONE! See the smoke in the second photo? The element in our oven caught fire and sparks were shooting! (I confess, I needed to clean the oven.) Ken threw the breaker for the oven but the element kept burning, parts of it falling to the floor inside the oven. ... Smoke was streaming out of the oven until we got out the amall, one shot fire extinguisher. Used it. Smoke and fire out. Please, learn from our mistake. Im not asking you guys to clean your oven but get a fire extinguisher and learn how to use it! We are having bread instead of oven toast this morning (thanks, Carolyn, for that observation!).
