Those who speak ill about scholars by spreading rumours and false tales of hearsay will definitely be severely punished by Allah in their health, well being, social and marital lives, in their children and much more. The most dangerous game to play is with Allah by insulting His friends who have sacrificed their lives to guide people. You can never ever win that game. By kicking the first ball the game continues until and unless we repent and seek forgiveness from the Ulama we have back bitten. Imagine we have Ulama who dont know us at all, they work hard for our benefit and we know the work they do then We talk bad about them.... in aid of what? Allah Taala says in Hadith Qudsi Whoever hurts a friend of mine, let him know that I have declared WAR against him! Whenever people have had major issues they rushed to an Aalim. His first question was Have you ever back bitten, slandered or spread tales about any Aalim? The answer was always YES. He would then say Go and beg his forgiveness. I ask all Ulama whom I spoke bad about to forgive me. I will never do it again. I cannot risk every goodness I have by talking bad about the friends of Allah.
