Thought for the Day: COULD YOU BE THAT RIGHT PERSON WITH THE RIGHT MESSAGE TODAY? On Sunday night, I sent a LinkedIn message to a fellow professional speaker/friend, and I expressed the words in the quote below to him, i.e., that I truly believed that he could be the right messenger at the right time to an individual I was thinking of. Two weeks prior, I had met a young man (late teens) while I was speaking that struck me with his enthusiasm and desire to make positive changes in his life. This young man had faced many challenges for such a young age, but was beginning to see himself as someone who could not only turn his life around, but be able to influence others in the process. While I was visiting with this young man during the break at my speaking event, I mentioned to him that he reminded me of a professional speaker I knew, who had come from a similar background but had overcome many obstacles and had made a tremendous success of his life. I told the young man that if he wrote down his email address, I would contact this speaker and see if he would have time to contact the young man. Long story short: I connected with my fellow speaker on Sunday, who responded that he would be delighted to connect with this young man, and word has it that the young man was elated to know this speaker and tremendous role model was reaching out to him. Im a true believer that we all need role models and inspirers, i.e., that one, right person to speak the right words at the time when we need to hear them most. Many times, that one voice is just enough to convince us to take the next step, to have courage, to keep pushing forward, to not give up. As motivational guru Tony Robbins often says, our lives can change in an instant, i.e., when we make that decision to move forward, to start over, to try again. Next time you feel your heart tugging to speak a word of encouragement to someone struggling, dont hesitate too long or worry too much about overstepping your bounds. From my experience, words of encouragement spoken from a pure, truly loving intention are rarely resented or taken poorly, but rather might be just that right message that makes a life-altering difference. To my fellow speaker, God bless you for impacting so many lives with your message of hope against the worst of odds...and for so quickly responding to my request for you to contact this young man. To this young man (if you are reading this), I BELIEVE IN YOU and know you have much good to offer this world. Keep taking steps in the right direction, and listen to those who will keep you moving forward on the right path. You touched my heart and inspired me to action...and I know you have the capability to inspire so very many on your lifes journey. Blessings to each of you this evening, Brenda
