Thought of the day - Here is a simple, rule of thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Matthew 7:12 The Message Bible. Wow!! The golden rule we learned as children but do we really follow this rule? If really thought and acted with this rule in our relationships how much more impactful our relationships would be. So often we are trying to get our needs met. We think if I scratch your back you will scratch mine or we can be so mean spirited. I have a bad day so I take it out on my spouse, who in turn takes it out on the kids, who they kick the cat, and the cat goes around scratching everything. Hate to admit I have been there. Or sometimes we have that hidden motive I act like I am doing it for your but it is to get what I want. Are you stuck in one of these places? First off thank God for the other person even if it is small. Example I thank you Lord that person was on time today. You cant act unselfishly toward someone if you are thankful for them. :-)
