The main internal sources of carbon are: Baking, grilling or broiling food, especially starchy foods, until a toasted crust is formed that generates significant concentrations of acrylamide - a possible carcinogen. Burned animal fats, toasted bread or biscuits, grilled foods, coffee, tea, cocoa, caramel and burnt sugars - all ersatz coffees (health food drinks) and toasted nuts.
