Thoughts that dont matter because no one is listening; Maybe the reason that companies shut down and move to other countries is because we wont pay for well made American goods and services. We will however buy the nearest WalMart down to bare assed shelves in order to get our hands on a bunch of cheaply made crap that will fall apart as soon as you use it. They call that market share and planned obsolescence. We allow a CEO to make millions if he just drives a share price up and nothing else. Doesnt matter if they puts thousands of people out of work to do it, they are serving shareholders interests. We value cheap over value in almost every facet of life. We look for cheap and equate that to smart. We allow organizations to lay off an established workforce, give them a tax break, and then reward them again by allowing them to reduce their paid wages and hire a whole new staff, including older workers and everyone making a decent wage or close to retirement. How smart is it to close down 17 manufacturing plants per day (on avg) in order to get a cheaper price on some piece of consumer crap? I call it stupid.
