Three major differences between the incumbent and me just to get started: 1. I propose curriculum standards and curriculum reviews by professionals credentialed in the field. In our editorial interview, Pat told the Dallas Morning News that she disagrees. 2. I promote curriculum which reflects the true diversity of culture and heritage of Americans and Texans. Pat votes with the far right against increasing diversity in the curriculum: She introduced the amendment to remove Archbishop Romero from the curriculum and voted against the Ethnic Studies elective. She also voted with the other Republicans against including a discussion of the founding fathers protection of religious freedom by barring government establishment of religion.. 3. Pat supports school choice which includes charter school funding. But I believe that school choice is a euphemism for re-segregation and is part of the plot to destroy public education and to pillage the public funding for corporate profit.
