Three years ago today I had the mammo that changed my life forever...ladies, I cannot stress enough how important it is to have that mammo EVERY YEAR! Yea, I know how uncomfortable it is but it sure as hell beats rounds of chemo, a mastectomy and tubes coming out of your side for 3 weeks draining the post op fluid and learning to live with the absence of feeling in the surgical area. Because I only had the one breast removed, I had to have work done on the other one when I had my implant put in so everything looks even...getting a mammo on that one IS painful at times due to the scar tissue,...so consider yourselves lucky! I have to see my Oncologist every 4 months now, hoping itll be 6 by November then by 2016 once a year for the rest of my life!! So those 5 minutes of boob squishing is so worth the peace of mind...
