Through the floods of northern Italy we cycled and into the forested mountains of beautiful Slovenia. Sitting over a coffee along the river in Ljubljana we had a decision to make ; to cycle eastwards taking the flatter and shorter route to istanbul, or, to take the longer and more mountainous route south along the Dalmation coast. After a bitterly cold day in Slovenia the decion was made, down to the slightly warmer coastline of the Adriatic. The cycling is tough in Croatia, it gets very windy and there are a lot of climbs but the country is absolutely stunning. Were now in Split and today well take the ferry to the island of Korcula. Well connect back up with the mainland tomorrow and should get to Dubrovnik by Saturday where well take a rest.
