Throughout the years I have come to realize just how often we ask God to change everyone and everything around us. Think about it, how many times do you ask God to change your husband, or the ones you work with, or your friends, or the other people who drive on the road. How many times do we ask God for a bigger house, more money, a better car, a great vacation and even a better climate. After looking at the list of changes we wish to have, I believe it would be much easier and more effective to ask God to change us. Yes, ask God to change your outlook on people. Ask for patience, sensitivity, kindness and forgiveness so you may better understand why people act and react the way they do. Ask God to give you appreciation for everything you have so you will not be searching for happiness in bigger and better things. Asking for God to change you instead of everyone else and your surroundings is just like asking God for wisdom.... Lord help me to better understand the ways of others, please give me patience and love for everyone, help me to treat others as I would wish for them to treat me. Help me to appreciate all you have blessed me with, weather it is great or small. Help me to be thankful for every breath I take, for all else is icing on the cake....
