~ Thumbs down ~ Thumbs down to the djerriwarrh health services on barries road. My boyfriend works night shift and after having a tooth ache he woke up yesterday afternoon with a swollen face on one side, which grew and was interfering with his eye and nose. As he was to work again last night we wanted to have it looked at to make sure it wouldnt become a problem. At 9.30pm we went into djerriwarrh health services and experienced an extremely rude receptionist who continually sighed and rolled her eyes at us. Then the triage nurse we saw bluntly asked why he didnt go to his GP, and that this is an emergency facility. She also sighed as she asked questions and acted like we were inconveniencing her. We got through to see the doctor and he told us (like we were stupid) that we will need to go to a dentist. We realise that it is an emergency facility but at nearly 10pm on a Monday night, we thought it would be the most suitable place to seek medical help. All we wanted was to make sure it wouldnt become worse while he was working and to get some antibiotics/pain killers until he could get to a dentist. Considering it is a place people go to seek medical help after hours, I was shocked at how unwelcome they made us feel. We will be going elsewhere for any other medical help from now on.
