Thursday, 15th January 2015 Fundamentals of Christianity The foundation of the Christian faith is the resurrection of Christ Jesus. This is what we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths. The bible says in Romans 10:9-10 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Rom 10:9-10 KJV) This means that the most important skill or tool a Christian is suppose to posses is the act of believing in our hearts and professing with our mouth. This is because this act of proclamation translated us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. This is the first act of faith of every Christian. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1 KJV). We all know that we have been saved by professing Christ but did you physically see Christ before believing? You see through our faith we are saved. We believed in our heart and professed with our mouths that Jesus is LORD and HE died and rose from the dead: through this we got salvation. So why dont we adapt the same technique in our daily lives? When we pray over food before eating do we really believe in our hearts what we say? You see the only power a Christian has is proclamation. When we face the tempter the only line of defense we have is believing in our heart that Jesus is LORD and proclaiming the name of Jesus. This is what saves us from the snares of the fowler. The greatest asset of a Christian is his/her heart. If our hearts are crowded with so many evil things how do we expect to proclaim good things A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (Luke 6:45 KJV) Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speak. Our hearts are now filled with so much filth that all that come out of our mouth now is doubt, profanity, fear, envy, hatred. It is now easier for someone to insult from the bottom of their heart than to give a genuine GOD bless you. Now most of the smiles on our faces are cosmetic since we just apply them on our faces without grounding them in our hearts. It is written in Proverbs 4:23 that Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (KJV) The only way to cleanse the heart from filth is by putting the WORD of the LORD in our hearts. In doing so HE will give us an answer of the tongue The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. (Prov 16:1 KJV). I pray that the LORD prepare our hearts and may HE fill it with the love of Christ so that anyone who looks at us will see Christ. Shalom. ©The Light of Peace.
