Thus it ends. ATTENTION!!! Patriots of the field. The time has come to retire the frisky discer association. From the great Dustin Tanner 5 years ago to present day it has truly been a pleasure carving the air with the disc every Friday night with all of you. Nothing lasts forever though in this crazy belligerent world! Our numbers have dwindled and our energy has diminished. I have consulted the captains and we have decided to discontinue playing every Friday night. It got to the point where only 7 or so would show up consistently and its not fair for those committed. Kyle will be leaving at the end of the summer for grad school. Kane has increasingly become more busy. I will be in Baton Rouge most of next year. Of course we will have special days where we can meet annually to play (ex. Halloween/Back To School/When A Hurricane shows up). It has been an absolute blast and honestly I never thought it would have lasted this long. I grew disinterested a couple years ago, but kept showing up because people liked it so much and I thank you for that. Now I think would be a good time to shut it down as many people begin to move on. Tonight I bid you farewell. It is not the ending, but the beginning of something greater for each of us. It wasn’t just frisbee, it was an outlet. It helped some peoples lives more than anyone could think. A Prophecy I Heard: When they were old and grey counting the pains, complaining of the ailments, while the days seemed to flash by faster and faster they remembered the days when they were free and untouched by time or worry. Then they heard from different sources that the Lion still played, he never stopped. It must have been a clip, or picture, or perhaps a faint memory but hope was then again restored because somewhere in the world with his old, brittle, but reliable body the Lion still played.
