Tidy Waterford is running the Golden Sweeping Brush Awards for the summer of 2013. Each week one business premises (service/retail/office) in the city will be chosen as the winner of the weekly Golden Sweeping Brush Award. The winner will be announced each Friday morning on the Breakfast Show. At the end of August an overall winner will be chosen from the weekly winners and they will receive a prize of a radio advertising campaign to the value of €1,000. We hope to encourage people to take better care of the area around the front of their business. In a tough economic climate there are many things that local businesses can’t do, but sweeping the paths around their doorsteps, cleaning windows and front surrounds, pulling weeds and generally making sure the entrance is inviting isn’t about money; it’s about getting the sweeping brush out for five minutes, first thing every morning, and making sure that doorstep is in ship shape.
