Tim Keller states, “At the moment Jesus Christ died, this massive curtain (the curtain that separated the most holy place in the temple from the rest of the temple) was ripped open. The tear was from top to bottom, just to make clear who did it. This was God’s way of saying, ‘This is the sacrifice that ends all sacrifices, the way is now open to approach me.’ Now that Jesus has died, anybody who believes in Him can see God, connect to God. The barrier is gone for good.” Good news? More like great news – fantastic news – unbelievable news. More like news that needs to be shouted from mountaintops, declared in the public square, lived out in the fullness of our lives in which we strive and yearn for the holiness purchased for us by Jesus at the Cross.
