Tim Scott did the weekly GOP address. Good news and bad news. Best part of speech was the ending: God bless America. It was also good to hear that The People not government power the economy and massive bills will be a thing of the past and open debate will be a feature, as well as amendments to bills. Then there were very general bromides about jobs and the economy. Good to hear that they intend to approve the pipeline and push energy for independence and jobs. Update the tax code is a meaningless statement. I didnt hear anything about LOWERING taxes or CUTTING spending- at all. NOTHING. He said they would tackle Obamacare - no, actually he referred to it as the Affordable Care Act which only democrats say. He said nothing about defunding or abolishing it. He said something about helping single parents with time at work and restoring a 40 hour week, both things that should be between employees/bargaining units and employers, not government-legislated. When even so-called Conservatives now talk like this, one realizes that GOP has moved way left.
