Tinubu backs Amosun The former Lagos State Governor, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has throw his weight behind the second term bid of Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun fca. Defending his action, the national leader of All Progressive Party, APC declared that his interest is the stability and progress of Ogun State and that the government of Senator Amosun was not negotiable. In a statement Senator Tinubu who frowned at the publication by an online medium that he and Osoba had dumped Governor Amosun’, said: I am surprised that a medium who want people to take it serious would run such an unfounded story, without proper verification. However, it is incumbent upon me as a leader of fast growing party in the country who is always vigilant and familiar with online news to respond to this type of miss- information as they surface. Speaking extensively about national politics, in general, and Ogun State under the leadership of Amosun, specifically, he made it clear that so far he is interested in the stability and progress of Ogun State which the government of Senator Amosun signposted, how could he ditch the governor who is even performing. Do you change a winning team? He asked and added that he will not be part of any conspiracy to destroy what has been achieved politically in Ogun State. There is no contest in his performance. The governor is working for the people and the state is progressing. To insinuate that Tinubu has dumped Amosun is unfounded and stretching it too far. I will not be an accessory to any move to deny a performing governor a ticket for the second term and I also know that Chief Olusegun Osoba whom I know has the interest of the people of Ogun at heart and will not do anything to truncate the current progress being made in his state by Senator Amosun.”
