Tip: In case of emergency, keep both your pets veterinarians phone number as well as the nearest 24 hour emergency vet hospital handy. Post them on your refrigerator, or another common area in case you are not there when the emergency occurs. Your vet can inform you of the nearest 24 hour emergency clinic in your area. Its also wise to have a copy of any pertinent vet records on hand in case they need a shot history. Usually this short list can be found on your most recent visit receipt and is only one piece of paper. Emergencies are never good, but will go smoother for all if you are prepared.
