Tip of the Day: Beware arrogance, it can sneak up on you. As John C Maxwell once said, Confidence, without character, is arrogance. John was making the point that if we talk the talk, we had better follow it up by walking the walk. I can say a lot of pretty words, but if I do not follow that with action, then I am just another fancy liar. This isnt always easy to do. Sometimes backing up what you say can mean sacrifice, it can be uncomfortable. The Bible says make your yes be yes and your no be no. This means my word is my bond. Im not just talking about making promises, Im talking about any claim I make. If I say to you, I have Christ inside my heart. Then I bad mouth someone the next day and you over hear it, what kind of message does that send? Im not saying that I will be perfect and never make mistakes. What I am saying is that we all should pay attention to the words that come out of our mouth, realize what we just committed ourselves to, then follow it with action.
