To: K.Ramanujam, IPS, DGP (L&O) T.K. Rajendran, IPS, ADGP R.C. Kudawla IPS, ADGP S.Rajendran, IPS, ADGP Dear Director General of Police, We are seeking an in-depth investigation on the heinous capture and loading of the community pets of Mogappair West Garden Area by employees of the Chennai City Corporation. We want to know where the dogs have been held and demand that they be returned to their original community at Mogappair West Garden. Most distressing is that fact that the police of V7 Nolambur police station are still unwilling to take up the case or even file an FIR. On 28th July 2013, in Nolumbur, a Chennai Corporation employee abducted more than 20 community dogs in a tricycle used to collect trash. One passerby managed to click some photographs, as the employee was not in uniform and had no id on him. When asked, the corporation employee claimed that he had the necessary permission for transporting these dogs. Due to the inaction of the officers at V7 Nolambur police station, we continued undaunted in attempting to discover the fate of these 22 dogs. As per Animal Birth Control Rules, 2001, it is illegal to remove stray dogs from an area or even displace them to another area. Here, we do not know the fate of these dogs till now. I join with many others state-wide to petition you: Investigate this crime, bring back our dogs back to the community of Nolumbur and punish the culprits repsonsible for the abduction of these dogs. Sincerely, [Your name] change.org/en-IN/petitions/tamil-nadu-s-director-general-of-police-indepth-investigation-of-abduction-disposal-of-dogs-in-mogappair
