To Rome With Love (2012) starring Jesse Eisenberg, Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, Ellen Page, Alessandra Mastronardi, Roberto Benigni and written, directed and starring Woody Allen is well worth the time to watch. This is especially true if youre an aspiring screen writer because every Woody Allen film is a master class in writing for screen. The film is beautifully, no lovingly shot by Darius Khondji who makes Rome look more romantic and inviting than it actually is in person. Allen and Khondji conjure up a series of situations that are outrageous and wonderful. This film has a slightly old fashioned tone to it but in all the right ways. Its nostalgic in some ways, yet it takes a very fresh approach when examining art, celebrity, love and attraction. I recommend this film for the writing, performances and belly laughs. Chow!
